Take a Seat

The Liberty Theatre Restoration Committee invites you to leave your mark on history by sponsoring a seat at the 100-year-old Liberty Theatre. Call, email or schedule a tour today to pick an available seat and see samples of the beautiful brass nameplates that are waiting to become part of your family legacy.

The Liberty first opened to the public in 1924 as a movie palace. It transitioned into a live theatre venue in 1959 and became the permanent home of the resident theatre group, Little Theatre on the Bay. The long overdue renovation of the Liberty Theatre began in 2015 under the stewardship of LTOB.

During phase II of renovation, the restoration committee decided to refurbish and enhance the original seats rather than replace them. In 2016, new seating was installed with modern enhancements like wider seats and more legroom. The historic end panels on each aisle were refinished. The theatre now has 307 seats along with handicap-accessible areas that accommodate wheelchairs.

Your financial contribution will serve the current phase of renovation which includes the expansion of the youth theatre as well as additional costuming, and dressing areas. You will be recognized by an engraved brass nameplate installed on the armrest of each sponsored seat.

A limited number of seats are still available. Don’t delay!
